1. Name of the candidate you chose: Doug Shreffler
2. Political affiliation of the candidate you chose: Democrat
3. How do you think the personal background or work experience of the candidate could help them be a good president? He was involved in many extracurricular activities in high school such as ROTC and was the former supervisor of the CIA. Doug Shreffler also has a clean background.

4. What issues are important to the candidate, or what goals do you think the candidate would have for the country if they were to become the president? Shreffler wants to give about two trillion dollars to the Department of Defense. He is also pro-choice and supports LGBT. In addition, Shreffler wants to minimize the effects of religion.

5. Do you think the interviewer did a good job in his role (i.e. being prepared, making the interviewee comfortable, asking good questions)?  What gave you that impression? I think that the interviewer did a pretty good job. He broke the ice by asking sort of personal questions. For example, he asked what his favorite fast food restaurant was. The interviewer also asked about his family. I felt that the interviewer made the interviewee feel comfortable at the beginning. After the ice breaker questions, which were pretty odd, he then began to ask great questions.

6. Political candidates need to decide how they’re going to spend their time.  That includes choosing which members of the press they’re willing to conduct interviews with.  What good things could come from doing an interview like the one you listened to?  What bad things could come from doing the interview? Good things that could come from the interview include people noticing you and agreeing with the things you said. They might vote for you, and then tell other people to vote for you as well. The bad things that could happen from an interview like this include people attacking you online. They might strongly disagree with the things you say and start stalking you. The people that watch this might also tell other people to hate on you.

7. If you were Mrs. Young’s media consultant, would you advise her to do an interview with this organization, knowing that the audio file of the interview would be online for everyone to listen to?  Why or why not?  I would advise her to do an interview because it might be beneficial, especially if it’s on the internet. A lot of people have access to the internet these days, and people might want to vote for Mrs. Young.

8. Do you think you would be a good reporter, conducting interviews with people?  Why or why not? I think I would be a good reporter because I would try to ask great questions. I would also be prepared for the interview and if I’m prepared for something it should go smoothly. I can also deal with different types of people.

9. Do you think you would be a good candidate, talking and listening to different types of people?  Why or why not? No, I don’t think so. I’m not good at talking on the spot. I also am a bit shy around people that I don’t know, which be be a disadvantage. Although I would be mildly prepared to be interviewed, I would still panic a bit.
